About MP4 to Transcript
MP4 to Transcript turns the speech in a video into text. You add an MP4 or another audio or video file and get the words as plain paragraphs, with timecodes, SRT and VTT subtitle files and a Word document as options.
It is made and run by Zehong Liu, an independent developer. The speech recognition uses ElevenLabs’ Scribe v2 model, which the site reaches through fal.ai. Each part of the audio is sent there to be transcribed, and the site asks fal not to store it. The privacy policy says what is known about how long the model provider keeps it. Reading the audio track, cutting it into parts, putting the text back together and building the downloads happen in your browser.
The tool is free for the first 5 minutes of up to 3 files a day. Longer files and the extra downloads are paid for with minute packs: one payment, no subscription, and unused minutes refunded within 14 days. That is how the site pays for its servers.
